At Boone RTC, we have a team of experienced coaches who are dedicated to helping our athletes reach their full potential. Our coaches have years of experience in the sport of wrestling and are committed to providing the best training possible.

JohnMark Bentley
HEAD COACH
JohnMark Bentley, a highly decorated wrestling coach, has received multiple accolades during his 14-year tenure, including six SoCon Coach of the Year awards and three-time national coach of the year finalist. Bentley has led the Mountaineers to numerous SoCon titles, both regular season and tournament. Under his guidance, the team has achieved an impressive 134-75-1 dual record with seven SoCon regular-season titles. Bentley has fostered a strong wrestling culture at App State, consistently attracting top teams and large crowds. The program's success includes NCAA Championship qualifiers and victories against notable opponents, and Bentley himself boasts an accomplished wrestling career. Bentley's dedication to the sport extends to community service and academic excellence, exemplifying his well-rounded approach to coaching.

Paul Bianchi
ASSISTANT COACH
Paul Bianchi joined App State Wrestling as an assistant coach in June 2024. He came from Minnesota State, where he coached two seasons, producing a third-place All-American at the 2023 NCAA Division II Championships and contributing to a team GPA that ranked fourth nationally in Division II. A standout wrestler, Bianchi was an NCAA qualifier at both Little Rock and North Dakota State during his collegiate career (2016–21). He became Little Rock’s first NCAA qualifier, earned Division I Scholar All-American honors, and later served as a graduate assistant. In addition to coaching at Minnesota State and Little Rock, Bianchi has worked with Central Arkansas Christian Schools, the Wisconsin Wrestling Federation, and the Askren Wrestling Academy. A native of Two Rivers, Wis., Bianchi was a three-time state champion with a 205-6 high school record. He holds an undergraduate degree in applied communications (2020) and a master’s in sport management (2022) from Little Rock.

Randall Diabe
ASSISTANT COACH
In October 2020, Randall Diabe, an App State Wrestling alum, was promoted to a full-time assistant coaching role for the team. He began his coaching career as a volunteer assistant in the 2019-20 season, contributing to the team's impressive 9-3 record, a school-record six NCAA qualifiers, and four shutouts. In 2021, under Diabe's coaching, App State achieved a school record with seven NCAA Championships qualifiers and five conference champions, tying with NC State and Arizona State in Division I wrestling. Diabe had a successful competitive career, culminating in 2019 with a record of 77-48 and an All-Southern Conference title at 197 pounds, earning him an automatic NCAA berth. He graduated with a degree in health promotion and a minor in nutrition in December 2019.

Max Maylor
ASSISTANT COACH
Max Maylor joined App State Wrestling as an assistant coach in June 2024, shortly after concluding his standout collegiate career. He competed at the NCAA Championships for Wisconsin at 174 pounds, earning a win as the No. 17 seed. Ranked as high as No. 11 nationally during his final season, Maylor placed seventh at the Big Ten Championships to qualify for the NCAAs. Before transferring to Wisconsin, Maylor spent five years at Michigan, where he was a two-time starter at 174 pounds and accumulated 58 wins in his Big Ten career, including a 19-9 record in his final season. A native of Highland, Wis., Maylor was a three-time high school state placewinner, capped by a state title in 2018, finishing his prep career with a 174-23 record. He holds a bachelor’s degree in general studies from Michigan and is completing a master’s degree in sports management from Wisconsin.
